Effective Prayer - making your prayer count

For many people, prayer is a last resort.  They pray only when they are desperate.  Often they are not sure to whom they are addressing or quite what to expect from their prayer.  If their need continues, it is 'proof' that there is no God.  If their need disappears, God is forgotten until the next emergency.  However, it should be the exact opposite for Christians.  Prayer should be as natural and instinctive as breathing.  It should not be restricted to merely asking God to meet needs, but should be an expression of an intimate relationship with God.
